A hollow structural section column bears on a steel embed plate anchored to a cast-in-place concrete wall. The base assembly uses two three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts with full penetration welds connecting the column to the embed plate. The embed plate measures one inch by five inches by zero feet eleven inches. The hollow structural section sizing is determined per the framing plan.
