A non-load bearing concrete masonry unit wall bears on a concrete foundation or slab with a roughened surface specified to a minimum one-sixteenth inch amplitude. A bond beam course sits above the base with solid grout infill containing one continuous number five reinforcing bar running the length of the wall. Vertical dowel reinforcement extends from the supporting element up into the hollow cores of the masonry wall. The supporting slab incorporates one continuous number five reinforcing bar anchored along the length of the wall alignment.
