A structural steel beam connects to buckling restrained braces through a gusset plate assembly. Beam web stiffener plates are provided on each side as specified by the brace supplier. Double plates are added to the web when required by the brace supplier, along with gusset stiffeners. The braces attach diagonally to the gusset plate with a typical four and one-half inch dimension clearance.
