The stair stringer connects to a half-inch base plate anchored onto the top of the Level 1 concrete slab. The plate features a half-inch typical cap plate welded at the vertical leg and long slotted holes measuring four inches in the direction of the stringer at each anchor location to allow for differential movement. Two five-eighths-inch diameter Hilti KB-TZ expansion anchors secure the base plate to the concrete slab.
