The mechanical unit hangs from threaded hanging rods coordinated with the mechanical contractor and secured through steel angles. Two L5x3x1/4 angles with long legs vertical support units weighing less than 300 pounds with Unistrut channels. L6x4x5/16 angles spanning ten inches with long legs vertical are welded to the steel joists with typical fillet welds. A 5-1/2 inch by 3 inch spacer plate one-sixteenth inch thicker than the hanging rods is positioned at the third points. The assembly ties back into the steel joist and metal roof deck construction.
