Reinforced concrete beam intersections and corners utilize number five dowels for top and bottom steel placement with standard ninety-degree hooks. Beam longitudinal bars extend one foot six inches minimum with ninety-degree hooks at intersections and corners. Dowels may be omitted when beam bars are bent one foot six inches minimum into the intersecting member. All reinforcing extends with typical one foot six inch lap lengths.
