A steel beam is supported by an hollow structural section post with an intersecting kicker brace. An L4x4x5/16 angle connects each side of the hollow structural section post using a seven-eighths inch diameter through-bolt in a vertical laminated strand lumber element. A steel beam per plan sits above, connected with quarter-inch fillet welds. A structural kicker brace frames into the steel beam web using a channel connection.
