Metal deck running parallel to a supporting steel beam is secured with longitudinal support welds per the metal deck schedule. A continuous flat plate with a minimum thickness matching the deck and a minimum of sixteen gauge is used at alternate conditions, with a two inch minimum dimension. Splice joints require a two inch minimum lap when beam flanges are less than two inches in width. High flutes are cut or two separate deck sheets are utilized as needed.
