A structural beam frames into a skewed or radiused hollow structural section column with a maximum one-half-inch gap at the interface. Connection is achieved using quarter-inch by five-inch by five-inch by zero-foot-five-inch bent plates on the near side and far side, secured with typical quarter-inch fillet welds.
