A roof fan hanger rod is suspended from a steel joist supporting a metal roof deck. Lateral stability is provided by L3x3x1/4 angle kickers typically positioned at the hangers. Top and bottom 4x4x1/2 plate washers distribute the load at the connection point. An alternative roof fan hanger connection is referenced to detail 11 on sheet S703, and the fan hanger itself is detailed per the manufacturer.
