A structural steel davit socket pedestal is mounted atop a beam sized per plan. A one-half-inch by four-inch plate, sized to the beam width plus one inch, is welded to the beam flanges with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are provided on each side of the column web, connected to the beam web with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. An offset detail at the column provides clearance and alignment for the support assembly.
