An HSS10x6 structural tube acts as the stair landing beam, receiving the interior stair stringers framed into its side. A 5/16-inch fillet weld connects the stringer to the landing beam top and bottom. A 3-inch by 3-inch by 5/16-inch angle, 2 feet long, is centered between the interior stair stringers to support the landing. An additional 1/4-inch thick HSS is installed between the interior stringers for handrail attachment, positioned so its top aligns with the top of the stringers. Cap plates are provided at each end of the hollow structural sections, secured with 5/16-inch welds.
