A wood nailer matching the beam flange width is anchored to a structural steel beam sized per plan. Connection is achieved using seven-eighths-inch diameter welded threaded rods spaced at sixteen inches on center, staggered, with a maximum three-quarter-inch countersink. One rod is positioned a maximum of nine inches from each end of the nailer and from each splice. Nailing patterns are executed with two rows at beam nailer spacing, expanding to four lines where nailing is staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing are required.
