Two sloped structural steel beams connect end-to-end with a 1-inch by 10-inch by 8-inch Grade 50 top plate and a 1/2-inch by 10-inch by 8-inch Grade 50 bottom plate, both attached with complete joint penetration welds. A 1/2-inch Grade 50 web plate acts as a shear tab, fastened with bolts according to the steel-to-steel connection schedule. The web features full-depth complete joint penetration welds typically. Steel beams are sized per plan.
