This one-sided beam-to-beam connection utilizes a shear tab welded to the supporting steel member web with a quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides. The supported beam web bolts to the shear tab using a specified number and size of bolts. A three-eighths-inch full-height stiffener plate is welded to the supporting beam web opposite the connection. Additional three-eighths-by-four-inch minimum plates match the beam flange width at the top and bottom, welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on two sides. Weld backup plates are included in the assembly but omitted from the graphic for clarity.
