A metal roof deck bears on a joist girder framing into a concrete tilt-up wall. The concrete wall contains horizontal panel reinforcement including one continuous number five bar at the joist bearing elevation. Bridging and connections to the joists are provided by the joist supplier. The bridging attachment consists of a three-by-three-by-quarter-inch angle sized to joist depth and secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch Kwik Hus-EZ anchors or equal. Per Steel Joist Institute requirements, the bottom horizontal bridging is installed horizontally without kicking up at a diagonal towards the deck bearing. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld is specified at the connection as shown.
