A stair stringer rests on a base plate sized to the width of the channel with a minimum ten-inch length, secured to a concrete slab by three-quarter-inch diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ anchors with a four-inch minimum embedment. The base plate features a two-and-a-half-inch long slotted hole oriented parallel to the stringer to allow movement. An L5x3x1/4 angle runs continuously between the stringers, secured with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds typically on three sides. A three-eighths-inch cap plate and tread components tie into the assembly above.
