An elevator separator beam connects to vertical elevator guide rail support columns utilizing L8x4x7/16 angle brackets measuring three inches long on each side. A three-inch long slotted hole is fabricated into the guide rail support column to accommodate a three-quarter-inch diameter A307 through bolt, which is installed finger-tight with its threads scored. A one-half-inch thick steel base plate welds to the separator beam with one-quarter-inch fillet welds typical. Guide rail brackets provided by the elevator supplier anchor along the support columns adjacent to concrete over steel deck construction seen beyond.
