A steel beam bears directly on a steel column utilizing a base connection plate designated SCP-1 or SCP-2, secured with field welds sized at one-quarter inch. Full height stiffener plates or single plates are provided on each side of the beam web unless noted otherwise. A continuous steel beam configuration is centered on the column with matching fillet welds. A drop-in beam condition incorporates a single plate shear connection with three vertical bolts.
