Cold-formed steel studs receive a backing track to support mounted equipment loads up to three hundred fifty pounds maximum and one hundred seventy-five pounds maximum. Backing extends one stud bay beyond the edge of attachment. No penetration is permitted in the backing where attachment occurs, and penetrations must follow note two. Stud bays are detailed in plan and section to maintain structural capacity.
