A hollow structural section beam connects to a wide-flange girder using full-height shear plates welded to each side of the hollow structural section. A cap plate with a seam weld all around is provided at the end of the hollow structural section. Fillet welds secure the connection with specific sizes and dimensions referenced per plan.
