A hollow structural section member connects to a structural steel beam flange using one quarter-inch thick plate on each side, measuring four inches by six inches. Two three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts pass through horizontal short slotted holes in each connection plate. Fillet welds of three-sixteenth-inch size secure the assembly as specified per plan. The top of steel elevation is coordinated per plan with a one-inch minimum clearance.
