A preservative-treated 4x12 wood ledger is anchored to an existing 8-inch concrete masonry unit infill wall with two 3/4-inch diameter anchor bolts spaced at 1-4 on center and embedded 6 inches minimum. Anchor bolts are preset before grouting, and all cells receiving anchor bolts are fully grouted with a grout stop installed below. A floor joist connects to the ledger using a standard joist hanger secured with 10d nails at 6 inches on center. Floor sheathing fastens to the framing above with diaphragm nailing.
