A steel beam frames into a half-inch end plate welded to another steel beam at a building corner. Half-inch stiffener plates are provided on each side with full-depth partial-joint-penetration welds to the flanges and five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds to the web. The connection includes a beam-to-beam moment detail with complete-joint-penetration welds to the end plate top and bottom flanges. A typical shear tab connection per 2/S1.2 is used where a moment connection is not called out on the plan. The top flange is shown cut back for clarity, and additional information is referenced on sheet 8.
