Structural steel continuity plates positioned on both sides of the column web, with thicknesses determined by the connecting beam flanges. Dimensions reference AISC k-distances, including a half-inch clearance and a one-and-a-half-inch offset. The cope at the continuity plate is left unwelded to the column web. Optional weld configurations are indicated for both the web and flange locations.
