A hollow structural section column supports a beam per plan above, connected via angles and fillet welds typical at the joint. A bottom flange brace connects to the column using a three-quarter-inch diameter thru-bolt positioned at the bottom of a long-slotted hole centered at the HSS. Angles sized L6x4x5/16 are attached to each side of the HSS, with a plate specified at similar conditions per note one. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size are applied typically where indicated between the steel members.
