A cable brace connects to the bottom flange of a steel beam using a Mason Type SCB seismic bracket secured with a one-eighth inch fillet weld with one and one-half inch spacing. The cable brace must be located less than forty-five degrees in plan from the centerline of the steel beam. If the bracing plan angle exceeds forty-five degrees, reference is made to detail 2B.
