A steel stair stringer bears on a concrete slab or finished grade and connects via an L3x3x1/4 structural angle. The angle is secured to the concrete using a three-quarter-inch diameter by eight-inch expansion anchor bolt at each stringer, typically. The stringer is welded to the angle with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld on three sides.
