A hollow structural section beam connects to a wide flange column top plate assembly. A cap plate tops the wide flange column, with its thickness sized to the greater of the flange thickness plus one and one-quarter inches or one inch minimum. Shear tabs welded to both sides of the column connect to the web and flanges of the framing members with bolts.
