Concrete over metal deck bears on a wide-flange beam with a minimum two-inch deck bearing and a fluted deck closure. A continuous three-eighths-inch bent plate with one-half-inch-diameter deformed bar anchors spaced at twelve inches on center is welded to the beam flange with quarter-inch fillet welds, applied shop or field at the contractor's option. Diaphragm reinforcement consisting of at least two number five bars is provided where not indicated, with lap splices conforming to general structural notes.
