Steel galvanized grating spans continuously across the top flange of a structural steel beam, with bridging members connected to the beam web. The web plate is welded to the beam using a five-sixteenth inch fillet weld on three sides. Additional bolted connections secure the bridging components to the web plates on each side of the beam web.
