Connection between an existing unreinforced masonry wall and perpendicular framing joists using three-quarter-inch threaded rods and steel plates. Epoxy is applied to the annular space around the threaded rod penetrating the masonry, secured with a nut and a two-inch by two-inch by three-sixteenth-inch plate washer on the exterior face. The threaded rod spans inward through a coupler and connects to six-by-six blocking anchored with Simpson HUC66 or HU66 hangers at each end. Additional notes indicate typical conditions at top-of-wall and continuous bond beam applications, requiring the threaded rod to clear the center core of the masonry.
