A concrete masonry unit wall is centered on a wide flange steel beam with a depth less than or equal to four feet six inches. A standard bond beam sits at the top of the masonry wall. An L6x3 1/2x5/16 by one foot zero inch or similar bent plate secures the assembly with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. A typical top of wall gap is maintained, with a minimum two inch dimension provided. Additional bracing is connected to the underside of concrete on steel deck.
