A structural height transition in a post-tensioned concrete slab where the step height is less than the overall slab thickness. The assembly features continuous bottom reinforcement, three continuous number five top bars, and transverse number five bars spaced at eighteen inches on center. Post-tensioned tendons maintain a smooth transition profile across the thickened slab zone spanning six times the step height. Additional top bars and typical bottom bar configurations are provided per structural plans. A class B lap splice with a one-foot six-inch minimum length connects the reinforcing steel across the step junction.
