One-half-inch thick stiffener plates are attached to both sides of a wide flange column with widths matching the connecting beam. A three-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the stiffener plates to the column web and flanges. The plan representation indicates the specific alignment and configuration of the stiffener plates relative to the structural column.
