An HSS girt connects to an HSS column with a one-half-inch clearance gap maintained at the column face. A seat angle measuring L4x4x5/8 by zero-feet-six-inches supports the bottom of the girt, welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. A three-eighths-inch by four-inch by zero-feet-six-inch plate ties the top of the girt to the column face, secured with field welds. All specified fillet welds are one-quarter-inch typical.
