Reinforcing steel development lengths are detailed for both standard non-seismic and seismic hooked rebar conditions within concrete members. The standard non-seismic detail permits both 90-degree and 180-degree hooks measured from the face of concrete or pour joint. The seismic detail restricts rebar development strictly to 90-degree hooks anchored outside the face of confining ties. Concrete clear cover is maintained at 3 inches for unformed surfaces and 2 inches for formed surfaces.
