A concrete masonry unit wall is braced to the underside of a concrete on steel deck, configured specifically for a wall perpendicular to the deck orientation. The assembly is anchored using an L6x4x3/8 by 1 foot 6 inch long lateral load vertical angle and an L3x3x1/4 angle with a maximum length of 8 feet, connected with 3/16 inch fillet welds. Fastening to the overhead structure is provided by two 3/4 inch diameter expansion anchors with 3 and 1/4 inch embedment spaced at 12 inches on center into the deck flute. Additional connection plates including a PL3/8x4x0'-4" and PL3/8x4x0'-6" gusset plate secure the brace assembly.
