An existing wide-flange steel beam supports an existing concrete slab on metal deck where the flutes run parallel to the beam. An L4x4x1/4 angle edge form is anchored to the edge of the deck with 1/2-inch diameter by 2 1/2-inch nominal embedment concrete screws spaced at 3 feet 3 inches on center with a minimum 2-inch bearing. Number 4 epoxy dowels with a 6-inch embedment and spacing matching the new slab reinforcement extend into a lap splice at the slab edge.
