A concrete slab bears on a concrete masonry unit wall with a typical bond beam. Vertical reinforcing bars sized number five at sixteen inches on center extend from the masonry wall into the slab, with field bending permitted. Two additional number five reinforcing bars extend one foot ten inches into the assembly. An eighteen gauge minimum metal pour stop retains the slab edge, and a continuous wall aligns above per architectural drawings.
