This expansion joint assembly at a concrete ramp utilizes a 1/2-inch expansion joint material installed on three sides of the joint gap. The edge is protected by an L 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1/4 inch steel angle, which is secured with 1/4 x 4 inch headed studs spaced at 1 foot 6 inches on center. A 1/2-inch sealant joint is provided at the interface. Pipe bollards are located adjacent to the assembly as indicated on the architectural drawings.
