Shear studs are welded through the metal deck to the supporting steel beam with a maximum spacing of twelve inches center-to-center. Additional studs are provided per structural notes to meet the required quantity indicated in brackets. Edge distances from the beam centerline to the first stud are maintained at a maximum of twelve inches. The metal deck spans across the steel beam while framing into adjacent structural supports.
