A wide-flange beam supports a concrete slab over metal deck at two different elevations, creating a vertical step condition at the web. An angle profile of L6x4x3/8 or L4x4x3/8 connects the lower slab edge to the beam web depending on dimension A relative to half the beam depth. Headed studs are provided on the metal deck per the structural plans. A fillet weld of 1/4 inch secures the connection assemblies.
