A steel sleeve is installed through a concrete masonry unit wall and positioned to clear vertical reinforcement. The masonry cells are grouted solid for a minimum of eight inches in all directions around the sleeve. Clear spacing between penetrations is maintained at a minimum of three sleeve diameters. Vertical reinforcing bars are sized and spaced per structural plans.
