Framed deck openings up to eight feet wide use W6x15 members with transverse framing sized per the schedule based on depth and roof or floor application. Detail A shows a W6 framing member connected to a supporting beam web using a three-eighths inch plate and two five-eighths inch diameter A307 bolts, with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. Detail B and the alternate detail show similar angle and plate framing connections to the beam web. Trim reinforcing is provided per typical detail around the opening, and transverse framing may be omitted if the distance from the opening edge to the beam flange is less than one foot.
