W12 and W14 cross beams frame into a W18 minimum moment frame girder or drag beam. A connection plate is sized with a thickness of three-eighths of an inch for beam depths less than twelve inches, and one-half of an inch for depths greater than or equal to twelve inches, with the plate omitted where beams are less than twelve inches deep. A stiffener plate matching the thickness of the connection plate is welded to the girder web with a quarter-inch fillet weld. Additional typical bolts are spaced at three inches on center, and a minimum four-inch and five-inch clearance is maintained. This specific configuration applies where the dimension 'H' is greater than eight inches and less than or equal to twelve inches.
