Steel decking spans parallel to the supporting steel beams, featuring welded studs as required and spread deck where beams run parallel. A continuous number 3 reinforcing bar is wired to the studs typically to support welded wire fabric or reinforcement. Additional number 3 bars at six feet zero inches long are spaced at twelve inches on center at W24 and deeper beams. The steel deck bears on the steel beams with specified minimum clearances and side bearings per plan.
