A beam frames into a rigid frame column web via a bolted shear tab and top and bottom plates. A three-quarter-inch plate is specified at the top and bottom, reduced to one-half-inch plates for W10x or smaller beams, welded to the column flange with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. The shear tab is sized per the schedule, with edge distance and bolt spacing following AISC specifications, and a second row of bolts is provided where applicable. A K1 distance per the AISC manual is maintained, and the shear tab extends to the bottom-most continuity plate with no slotted holes.
