A one-half-inch steel column cap plate sits atop the steel column, supporting the ends of adjacent steel joists. The joists are secured with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld at the bearing seat. Reference elevations indicate the top of steel per plan, and typical steel joist to girder connections govern the remaining fastening.
