Typical L3x3x1/4 angle supports run parallel or perpendicular to the metal deck framing around a hollow structural section column with a maximum three-inch clearance "A". Deck support angles are supplied by the structural steel contractor or deck manufacturer depending on the specific detail notes. The support angles feature a one-eighth inch fillet weld typical. The deck support angle may be eliminated if dimension "A" is less than or equal to three inches and perpendicular to the deck span.
